The Narcissist’s Toxic Social Media
Narcissists use social media to act out their vanity, malice and aggression. Their covert campaigns of psychological abuse intentionally cause severe mental health consequences for their victims and can lead to tragedy. In spite of the tremendous harm they cause, there is no legal framework put a stop to their abuse or hold them accountable.
A Narcissist’s social media platform is usually a study in distortion. It’s where the Narcissist’s fictitious narrative displaces facts. Their online presence is an extension of the facade they use to hide a multitude of sins. It also provides easy access to the admiration they garner from their followers.
However, in the hands of a Malignant Narcissist, social media can be weaponized to quietly wage orchestrated campaigns of psychological abuse. This is done through the creation of content that is deliberately intended to antagonize the person they have targeted.
The Narcissist intentionally seeks to cause distress and suffering for the individual they want to destroy.
To the untrained eye, a Narcissist’s social media may seem innocent and harmless but for their target, it is a digital extension of the coercive and controlling behaviors the Narcissist uses to psychologically torture them.
